Excellent Researchers with Rich Work Experience & Information Network with Capability to Collect Diverse Information
The Institute was established on Feb. 01, 1997 to cope with the Quantitative Expansion of the Design Field, which has emerged as a Key Factor in National Competitiveness with the advent of the knowledge and information society, and to improve the Quality of Design Development.
The Design Institute aims to contribute to the long-term development of the University and the Development of the Community and the National Industry by taking an Initiative of the Design Development Research as well as providing an Active Research Environment leading to New Changes in the Design Area. The Competitive Edge of Design Research is an Efficient Design Development Process based on Excellent Researchers with abundant work experience, an Information Network with Diverse Information Gathering Capabilities, and Strategic Design Development Know-How.

Organization Chart
It comprises the Edutainment Design Department, Web Image Design Department, Industry-Academic Cooperation Design Department, and Communication Department. One senior researcher and one researcher reside.
Future development plan
First, the Institute will secure Competitiveness as a Regional-based Design Development Agency by continuously developing and carrying out Industry-Academic Cooperation Projects. Second, it seeks ways to contribute to the Profit Generation of Institutes and the University by developing Design Brands that encompass Development and Marketing in Design Planning. Third, it holds Academic Seminars by inviting Prominent Designers, develops the Capstone Design and Design Workshop Programs to support Field-oriented Designer Training Program.
