The Rapid Development of Industry, Land Development, and Concentration of Population are destroying Nature, causing environmental pollution, depriving human rights to live a pleasant life and further threatening the right to live. As Restoration of the destroyed and polluted Natural Environment requires a Considerable Time and Financial Recompense, we realize its seriousness and that the most effective countermeasure is prevention rather than healing. Nevertheless, Policy Makers who are not yet aware of the dysfunction of environmental degradation continue to do non-environmental work.

Our University is the only National University in Gyeonggi-do, which is situated in the metropolitan area where Nature Destruction and Pollution are the most serious in the country. Therefore, It is a natural task and responsibility for the Experts of the University to consult and research to solve Natural Environment Conservation and Pollution Issue in the Gyeonggi-do areas. Therefore, the Institute of Environmental not only plays a leading role in preserving the Natural Environment and solving the destroyed and polluted Environmental Problems but also contributes to the Balanced Development of Gyeonggi-do through Environmentally Friendly Development that respects human beings.
